On Saturday, September 28th, The Metropolitan Montreal Basketball Referee Association (MMBRA) kicked off its first rookie class of the season at Collรจge Durocher Saint-Lambert, welcoming over 30 new referees into the MMBRA family. The enthusiasm and energy throughout the day was evident as aspiring new officials gathered to learn the fundamentals of officiating and begin their journey in basketball refereeing at MMBRA.

The day was filled with interactive sessions, rulebook discussions, and on-court practice. Our experienced instructors shared valuable insights, setting the foundation for these rookies to become confident officials.

MMBRA is committed to fostering new talent, and we are thrilled to see so many new faces taking up the challenge of becoming a basketball official. This turnout speaks volumes about the growing interest in officiating and the importance of ensuring that we are able to keep up with the growing demand of the sport.

To all our new rookies: Welcome to the MMBRA family! We looks forward to seeing your progress and contributions on the court.

MMBRA will host its next rookie class in January (Date TBD), anyone interested can sign up using the following link: Become an Official
