Haut-Richelieu Officials Get a Behind-the-Scenes CEBL Experience in Montreal

A group of eight basketball officials from the Saint-Hyacinthe region and the Haut-Richelieu association travelled to Montreal on Sunday afternoon for a unique officiating development opportunity at the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) game between the Montreal Alliance and the Edmonton Stingers at Verdun Auditorium. The group was led by Guylain Lapointe, President of the Haut-Richelieu association.

Representing MMBRA on the court were officials Yannick Payette, Max Audette, and Greg Southward, who worked the contest in front of an enthusiastic home crowd. The game provided an excellent opportunity for the visiting officials to observe high-level officiating and gain valuable insight into the demands of professional basketball.

Following the game, the visiting officials were invited into the officials' locker room where they had the opportunity to meet with the crew, ask questions, and discuss various aspects of game management, positioning, communication, and preparation at the professional level. The post-game exchange provided a valuable learning experience and highlighted the importance of mentorship and collaboration within the officiating community.

The visit concluded with a group photo alongside the CEBL officiating crew, creating a memorable moment for everyone involved.
