MMBRA Referees Shine at 2025 CPA Elite Camp in Montreal

This past weekend, the Provincial Officiating Committee (CPA) hosted its annual Elite Camp, bringing together some of the most promising and experienced basketball officials in the province—and beyond. Held once again in Montreal, the three-day camp served as a platform for high-level development, mentorship, and performance under pressure.
From June 20 to 22, officials participated in an intensive schedule that blended classroom learning, physical training, and on-court evaluations. The camp ran in conjunction with the Brookwood Elite Tournament, giving referees the opportunity to apply what they learned in real-time, high-caliber game situations.
Campers were supervised by some of the country’s top officiating talent, including national-level assignors FIBA officials, and two NBA officials. Each session emphasized professional standards, growth through feedback, and advancing toward elite-level assignments.
Six officials proudly represented the Metropolitan Montreal Basketball Referees Association (MMBRA) as campers: Shawn Alleyne, Wandy Beauzile, Cham Fung Lau, Anthony Perrichet, Robert Shaul, and Chanez Saheb.
In addition to the campers, several MMBRA supervisors were also present at the camp, offering their expertise and mentorship throughout the weekend: Max Audette, Mike Homsy, Pierre Marion, Yannick Payette, Greg Southward, and Jayson Stiell,
Each official—whether on the floor or guiding from the sidelines—brought energy, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence that stood out among participants.
As always, the Elite Camp continues to be a vital part of the CPA's development pathway, offering participants invaluable exposure, practical experience, and one-on-one guidance from some of the most accomplished officials in the country.
